The Onyx M.D. executive team has over 50 years of combined expertise in physician recruiting and retention.  Each member of the executive team has been indoctrinated in our E.L.I.T.E. approach to service and the results are impressive.  Under their leadership, Onyx M.D. was recently recognized and published in the third edition of Top Grading by Brad Smart published in August of 2012.    The results prove that the executive team has clearly set the path for sustained success.  With just over 500 clients and 1,000 physicians placed on assignments, the company is growing responsibly while remaining committed to the E.L.I.T.E. principled approach to service.

Robert Moghim, M.D. - Founder & CEO


Dr. Robert Moghim is a board certified physician specialist who founded Onyx Healthcare (DBA Onyx M.D.). in early 2005.  His extensive medical background, entrepreneurial vision, and business acumen provides a unique perspective on the ever-evolving and dynamic healthcare industry.

As the CEO and overall leader, he is responsible for the mission and vision of the company.  He instituted the E.L.I.T.E. model of principles that has helped the company grow rapidly since its inception.  In a relatively short time, the company has opened two offices in Denver, CO and Dallas, TX.  The company has established a national staffing presence in all 50 states and created revenue growth on track to become one of the largest privately-held physician services company in the United States.

Jim Chandler, CFA - Co-Founder, President & CFO


Jim Chandler co-founded Onyx M.D. along with Dr. Robert Moghim and came on in a full-time capacity shortly thereafter.  He has many years of experience in various finance and accounting roles across multiple industries, including healthcare, telecommunications and eCommerce.  Chandler earned a BSBA in Finance from the University of Denver and has also earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He is an active member of CFA Institute which advocates leadership within the investment profession by setting the highest standards for ethics, education and professional excellence.

JJ Asarch, Esq. - General Counsel


JJ Asarch joined the Onyx M.D. team as General Counsel in 2013.  In this role, Asarch oversees all legal aspects of the company and advises in developing and executing the company’s general business and strategic plans.  Asarch came to Onyx M.D. from the Black Creek and Dividend Capital Groups, Denver-based sponsors of private equity funds and public non-traded real estate investment trusts (REITs).  At Black Creek/Dividend Capital, Asarch served as Vice President and Senior Corporate Counsel where he attended to corporate governance matters, negotiated and closed numerous business transactions (acquisitions, dispositions, and buyouts) collectively worth over $350 million, supervised various litigation, and served as lead internal counsel for the asset management/operations groups of two separate REITs which collectively held over $5 billion in commercial real estate assets across the country, comprising over 60 million square feet.

Jamal Pilger - VP of Software Development


Jamal Pilger brings a wealth of experience from the likes of Raytheon, Lucent Technologies (Avaya), Maxtor and Exabyte, as well as several SMBs and startups.  With a rare combination of both business and technical skills, he has founded five companies, has over 25 years management experience, and over 16 years experience working with Internet technologies.  Pilger is a true Internet veteran and pioneer who began developing web based software in 1995.  He has a passion for technology and it's application to accelerate business operations, improve efficiency and make people's lives easier.

Kristin Fasy - VP of Sales


Kristin Fasy’s leadership and tremendous work ethic have created the foundation of Onyx M.D. Her strong background in marketing and advertising have honed her many strengths, which include superior listening, organization, problem-solving and leadership development.

Her primary responsibility is developing and managing OnyxMD’s Sales Team. Her time is spent training, supporting and counseling sales personnel and driving them toward individual, team and company goals.  She works closely with the Senior Vice President of Sales to identify, develop and promote leaders from within.

Sara Rogers - VP of Operations


Sara Rogers joined Onyx M.D. in February 2010 bringing with her over 9 years of experience in the healthcare industry.  She has extensive knowledge of the locum tenens business, strong strategic and leadership skills, and years of experience in project management developed while serving in previous roles as Executive Director of Operations, Director of Quality Assurance/Risk Management, and Manager of Logistics.

She has direct leadership responsibilities for the organization’s administrative operational departments.  Her main focus is to ensure operational efficiency amongst the departments through process review and improvement.

Brian Thornton - VP of Corporate Development


Brian Thornton started his career in the healthcare staffing industry in December 1999.  As a recruiter, he focused on multiple specialties including Surgery, Primary Care, Internal Medicine subspecialties, Radiology and Anesthesia.  In addition to his vast knowledge of healthcare and the locum tenens realm, Thornton has over 20 years of experience in employee development and training, stemming from diverse backgrounds such as healthcare, restaurants and telecommunications.  His patience, perseverance and focus, coupled with years of experience, led him to Onyx M.D., where he facilitated in the launch of the Dallas office in 2009.  He then relocated to the Denver area in January 2010.

Ashley Campbell - Director of Human Resources 


Ashley Campbell began her journey in the healthcare staffing arena in early 2004. Her current areas of focus are Human Resources and Business Development which include the following responsibilities: Employee Relations, Benefits Administration, Program/Resource Development, Culture Development (the FUN stuff) and Passive Internal Recruiting.

Campbell is an accomplished results-driven recruiter and sales leader. She has a thorough understanding of current employment trends, market status, and creative recruiting strategies with a passion for internal staffing and/or recruiting.
